Borgata Prepared To Take Operations Online In Atlantic City
The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is not planning on wasting any time once regulators allow casinos in Atlantic City to take their operations online. Borgata officials announced this week that they will be one of the first casinos to have an online presence in New Jersey.
Regulators have given a tentative date of November 26th as the time when online casinos will go live in the state. Several casinos, including the Borgata, have expressed their desire to be prepared to launch their online casinos on that date.
“We intend to be among the first to offer online gambling in the state of New Jersey and are confident the Borgata brand will allow us to capture a substantial share of this lucrative market,” said Borgata President and CEO Keith Smith.
Just how each casino plans to grab a piece of the online gaming market is unknown. What is known is that there will be plenty of competition, and casinos will have to get innovative to lure the gamblers to their online casinos.
“Just like in the land-based casinos, there is going to be a lot of competition among the casinos for the gambling customer base in New Jersey,” said Gaming Expert Greg Lamb. “The promotions run at the start should be great for the players.”
The promotions are something everyone is looking forward to. Players who have been longtime gamblers at their favorite casinos, are expecting to gain perks by using their player’s cards online.
“I get points when I gamble in the casinos, so I don’t see why it would be different online,” said William Brandt. “In fact, I am expecting even greater perks for playing online, because it is something new and I’m guessing they will want my business.”
Tying the online operations to the casinos in Atlantic City may not be difficult for casino executives. One casino executive, who wished to remain anonymous, said his casino is contemplating giving away hotel room stays to those who use their player’s cards frequently online.
“Whatever the promotions are, you can bet they are going to be geared heavily towards gaining customers in the initial rush come late November,” said Lamb.
